CELEBRATE EASTER

EASTER DAWN SERVICE

At 6:00 AM, hundreds will gather near the top of Castle Hill to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and enjoy observing the sun rising over Townsville. This is a special and unique opportunity to celebrate Easter Sunday.

Hosted by the Combined Churches of Townsville and the Salvation Army, this is a Townsville tradition that has been going on for over 50 years. The first Easter Sunday dawn service consisted of a small group of Salvationists and Salvation Army Bandsmen gathered together in a circle on Castle Hill. Since then, it’s grown, and today it’s a much more ecumenical event, involving many different churches around Townsville. This year, the worship will be led by a band from Warehouse Worship, the message will be brought by Lt- Colonel Stuart Reid of The Salvation Army, and live music from the Salvation Army’s brass ensemble.
